use di ff erent learning methods and environments to activate these brain areas and create an e ff ective learning experience.

Scientific studies There are many scientific studies that have dealt with the topic of blended learning. Here are three of the best known and most interesting studies. Classifying K-12 Blended Learning A well-known study on blended learning in the context of the future of learning is the study conducted by Staker, H. and Horn, M. B. (2012) titled "Classifying K-12 Blended Learning." In this study, the authors examined various blended learning models used in K-12 education (kindergarten through 12th grade) to understand how di ff erent blended learning approaches are implemented and used in schools. The study aimed to develop a framework for classifying blended learning models to help educational institutions, teachers, and policymakers choose e ff ective blended learning approaches for their students.

The authors analyzed 48 examples of blended learning programs and developed four main categories of blended learning models:

Rotation: students alternate between online learning and face-to-face classes, often on a set schedule.

Flex: The majority of classes are taught online, with instructors available for one-on one support and guidance.

A La Carte: Students take individual courses online while taking other courses in a traditional school structure.
